Build genuine relationships, think more critically, and engage in conversations most people avoid.
TORN (Truth or Religious Nonsense?) is a community for people of diverse beliefs to discuss religion, truth, and worldview together.
TORN gatherings take place through live, small-group discussions where participants can listen, ask questions, or take part in the conversation.
Anyone can present a topic or worldview, and discussions are shaped through open Q&A rather than scripted debate. These aren’t one-time interactions. People engage with the same group over time—to better foster real relationships.
Ideas are examined seriously, but people are treated with consistent respect. Disagreement is expected, but hostility and personal attacks are not tolerated.
TORN was founded and is organized by Christians, and many of its values and guiding principles are informed by Biblical convictions—such as truth-seeking, humility, and human dignity.
While our leadership holds Christian beliefs, those beliefs do not dominate the conversation. Participants of all perspectives are given equal space to present, question, and challenge ideas.
Each discussion includes a facilitator to help maintain structure and ensure the group’s core principles are followed. Facilitators do not lead the conversation toward a particular viewpoint—they are there to make sure the environment is one where ideas can be explored openly and honestly.
